Day T-1
My flight to Calgary went extremely smoothly. It turned out that my worries about my bike and gear getting here were unwarranted. As I walked up to the luggage carousel after only about 15 minutes getting through customs my suitcase came rolling onto the conveyor. The oversize luggage area was only 50 ft away and my bike box was already there. After a shuttle to Banff I checked into my hotel then spent about an hour downtown, including dinner at a Poutine restaurant. I figured I had to try some Canadian food. After that it was a 3 hour or so bike assembly and loading session. Some pictures appear below. Banff is a beautiful town in an insanely beautiful setting. Tomorrow I need to buy about 2 days of food and pick up bear spray then start riding. My destination will be be a campground at Lower Kananaskis Lake.
