Days 12 to 15
No pictures today since the place I am having breakfast right now (Elkhorn Lodge) has very slow internet that can't handle picture uploads. I will update this with pictures later if I get a chance. The night after spending a hotel in Lincoln, where I finally got my laundry done I decided to push to get to Helena in one day. The mileage was somewhere in the high 60 mile range and it was quite the challenge. The hardest was Stemper Pass, which was another rough 4x4 track that reduced me to a walk for a couple of miles. I spent the night at a campground at the county fairgrounds in Helena. Helena was a nice town and I stayed a couple of extra hours in the morning chasing down some replacement items (gloves and helmet that the deer at Tuchuck campground destroyed, a broken backpacking spork/knife, and a paracord that got stuck when hanging my food in a tree). The next day took me to Basin, Mt, a maybe 30 person town with a fantastic bar and Cafe. About a mile before hitting town...
